P. J. Day (May 2013)
Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our recent stay at your site in Naburn. It is the cleanest and prettiest site
we have ever been to, and we will definitely recommend it to others. You made us feel very welcome and were helpful and
approachable. Many many thanks!
C. & A. Wood (2013)
We have just spent a wonderful weekend in our motorhome at Naburn Lock Caravan Park Nr. York.
Highly recommended, due to its pleasant helpful owners, generous pitch size and well laid out site, with a well stocked store
for general provisions.
There is a water taxi 5 minute walk away which goes into the centre of York and a cycle track for those who are feeling
energetic.
Very reasonable priced for this beautiful location.
Jean and Richard Saunders (July 2012)
We found Naburn Lock Caravan Park to be a lovely clean site with good
facilities and well kept. It is in an excellent location for visiting York
with a bus stop right outside the entrance and it is only a short walk to
the river for fishing. We also liked the fact it is a peaceful quiet site
especially at night.
Peter & Catherine who run this park are hard working, friendly, helpful
and very obliging people and they deserve a medal the size of a Frying Pan.
Mr. & Mrs. R White (July 2012)
A clean and tidy superb site, quiet and peaceful, the singing of the
birds and the cock-a-doodle-doo are lovely. Looking forward to coming back.
Colin and June Hawksford (June 2012)
We have been coming to Naburn Lock for 7-8 years, both with our tent and
now our caravan, and we both feel like we are coming home, to a place that
is welcoming, relaxing and comfortable, in an ideal location, with hosts,
Catherine and Peter, who always make you welcome and facilities that are
spotless.
I would recommend this site to everyone.
Sheila & Roland Costello (March 2012)
My husband and I just wanted to say although we only had a short stay,
what a beautiful place Naburn Caravan Park is, very quiet and everything
has lovingly been thought out.The layout of the whole park is
wonderful, welcoming and so pristine clean.
The toilets and shower block with it's welcoming music makes you feel
so at home...You work extremely hard to make this such a welcoming site,
we will highly recommend it to everyone coming your way.
Must say I fell in love with your friendly wandering hens!!!!! Thank
you so much
Shirley, Tony and Bethany Gregory (March 2012)
Pulling into Naburn Lock and on to our pitch is like putting on an old
pair of slippers; Warming and Reliable like coming home. Purr-fect says Max
the Cat.
Dianne and Mick Scott (October 2011)
Just wanted to say once again thank you for providing such a lovely site
and how much once again we have enjoyed our stays this season. Always
enjoyable and we feel like we have *come home* each time we pull in.
We feel so comfortable and your hospitality, friendly nature and
helpfulness plus the lovely site and spotlessly clean shower/toilet blocks
make the site even more special.
Lots of people we have recommended the site to have been this year we
know for definite, in fact I said we are going to stop doing that as we may
struggle to get in haha..
Thanks again and very much look forward to next season and hope to come
more often hopefully with a newer caravan. Do take care and see you both in
March hopefully.
Pauline and Malcolm Davies
GUTTED! YES GUTTED! that we found this park so late in the season as we
would have had a couple more trips this year!
Lovely clean shower block and toilets, (with piped music, what a lovely
touch). A very clean site which is quite strict on recycling and low level
of noise (and none after 11pm!) which suits us fine to keep up the
standards.
This site is an excellent base for North Yorkshire and has fantastic
cycle and bus routes to York, Selby and beyond. On a nice day take a bottle
of wine and a blanket down to the lock and watch the world go by, fab!!
We went with friends who were equally impressed and its now marked on our
calendar for many future visits. You will not be disappointed if you chose
this site and I am quite hard to please!!.
Excellent local pub, a 10 min walk, with lovely home cooked bar meals,
try the ploughman's platter its hard to beat!!! All in all a great site and
we cant wait until 2012!
Steve, Debra and Jambo the dog (Lancashire)
"We stayed at Naburn Lock Caravan Park for the first time in September
2011 for 6 days with our dog Jambo and would highly recommend it.
Peter and Catherine make you feel very welcome, always happy to help,
work hard to keep the grounds and facilities up to a great standard.
The site is very quiet, and the walks just a stones throw away so great
especially for the dog. Would highly recommend to treat yourself to a meal
at The Black Bull in Escrick.
We will definitely be back again. Thanks again Peter and Catherine
Mike & Caroline Keeling
Thank you very much once again for the wonderful facilities (and the
sunshine) and your marvellous hospitality. We really enjoyed our nights
there and cannot fault a thing – well maybe the noisy crow at 4.25am !!
Mr. & Mrs. B. (June 2011)
Stayed at your park last week and would like to thank you for providing
such a lovely site. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and were really
impressed with your website.
I have never experienced such a hospitable and friendly site. We loved
the setting and the space, your shop and the cleanliness of your toilet
block, you really do your customers proud and your site is a credit to all
your had work. Thank you once again, will definitely be back.
Sandra and Cliff McFarlane (May 2011)
We would just like to say what a wonderful holiday we have had, yours is
the first site we have felt relaxed on in such a long time with such a
friendly welcome every morning.
The site is so spacious and very clean and attractive and it was great
being able to get the cruise straight into York.
We will definitely be returning sooner rather than later.
Thank you (our dogs also say thank you)
John and Mandi Pullen from Burntwood, Staffordshire (May 2011)
We’ve just left your park today and I just wanted to say thank you. We
had a fantastic time. Your facilities are lovely and clean and the site
itself is beautiful. Fantastically placed for visiting York which is a
lovely city. You made us very welcome and we will be coming back. Thanks
again.
Tudor & Jean Vines from Cardiff (March 2011)
My wife and I stayed at Naburn Lock Caravan Park, York, for a week at the
end of March, and would highly recommend anyone to visit there. It is very
well run and clean. We also found it most peaceful. Nothing was too much
trouble to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable, with a very warm welcome
from Peter and Catherine. The walks were lovely and we will certainly be
paying another visit.
Joanne, Steve, Maureen, Brian and Treacle - the F-R family (September 2010)
A BIG THANK YOU
We have just returned from a week of “chilling out” and total relaxation
at Naburn Lock Caravan Site. The site is the best one we have visited in the
last 5 years of camping and caravanning. (it is also the only site that my
mother and father visit, they love the accessibility to York and all of the
local amenities).
The site is immaculate; the toilet and shower blocks are cleaned at least
twice daily. Catherine and Peter work their socks off to keep the place in
tip top condition and their hard works shows. The site is beautiful whatever
time of year you visit, we have now been in May, June and now September and
they are always friendly and helpful, going way beyond what you would
expect.
A mention also from our dog Treacle, she has made a point of telling us
that she loves the dog friendly site and the long walks around the lock, the
sight of the ducks, chickens and rabbits meandering around keep her
entertained for hours.
So here is a big thank you to Peter and Catherine, “we look forward to
calling again next year”.
David & Pam Lunn (August 2010):
Just to say how much we enjoyed our visit. We would like to congratulate
you both on your superbly run camp site, it is both well organised and well
controlled and the most dog friendly site we have ever visited. You both
obviously work very hard to keep things this way.
Karin & Stephen Brown:
Returned home today after spending 5 nights at your Caravan Park and just
wanted to let you know that your site is fantastic. The pitches are nice and
spacious, shower block and toilets spotless and a great place for
discovering the local area. Its such a shame there aren't more sites like
yours around the country. Keep up the good work.
Douglas & Margaret Johnson from Paignton in Devon
Just to say thank you for a great few days. We can't recall having stayed
on a better site. The grounds and facilities are immaculate and the service
is friendly and efficient. We like the idea of the adult only area. We will
certainly be back.
Liz Ian and Jeanette (April 2009):
We have come to Naburn Lock Caravan Park many times, what a wonderful
park Naburn Locks is and how welcome you both make everyone feel. We have
brought our families and grandchildren along, they all love to come and
visit. The hard work you have both put into the park definitely shows. The
site is immaculate the hosts are wonderful and we meet such wonderful people
when we come.
Rhona and Jim (October 2008):
We stayed on your park 2nd - 5th Oct with our Motorhome along with
friends and would just like to say thank you for an enjoyable stay. We found
your park very relaxing and friendly, just what we were looking for. The
facilities were kept very clean and the park itself was very well
maintained. You both obviously work very hard to keep it like this and it
shows! You were very pleasant and helpful to us and it was much appreciated
Amanda Burgess (October 2008):
We have just returned home after spending a weekend for the first time on
your park, we would like to say a huge thank you, we have had a lovely stay
and you made us most welcome.
Joanne Barry and the Blake Family
We have stayed at Naburn Lock Caravan Park several times and found it is
positioned well for exploring. Set in rural countryside with peace and quiet
and close to the river Ouse, there is plenty of space, very friendly and
well maintained, and by 11.00p.m.everything is silent, the showers and
toilets are very clean. Many thanks for a great holiday.
Barbara Robinson (September 2008):
"What a lovely site. We did have a great time,
its not often you find somewhere with everything you want. Good Site, Great
Owners, Lovely people on site and Good Location. Peter and Catherine you
work very hard and it shows, keep up the good work and hope to see you soon."
Andrew & Sharon Rowland (October 2008):
"First ever weekend caravanning and we got the
perfect site with excellent friendly park owners, they even got their tug
out as we were late arrivals, to put us on site after getting stuck. We
could not have wished for a better site to start caravanning."
Mike & Liz Hanion (August 2008):
"We would like to thank you for making our stay at Naburn Lock a very
enjoyable one. The Park and facilities are maintained to a very high
standard. Peter & Catherine work very hard to ensure all on the site have a
relaxing and trouble free holiday. During the caravanning season we have all
found sites that are nice, well most are, but Naburn is one of the best. An
excellent top notch park."
Steven & Wendy Cochrane (August 2008):
"Thank you both for a fantastic stay at Naburn, the grounds and
facilities are tip top and we will recommend Naburn to all our family and
friends. We will be back soon. Thank you."
John & Sheila Stokes (August 2008):
"We would like to say a big thank you to both of you. Our stay at your
park was very enjoyable the good spell of weather was an added bonus. We
will not hesitate in coming back next time we are in Yorkshire and we wish
you well with the David Bellamy Award, we both feel you deserve it, your
park is first class."
Neil and Esther Williams (September 2007):
"With reference to our visit to Naburn Lock Caravan Park, we both had a
very enjoyable stay. We found the park to be of a high standard of
cleanliness and the grounds very well kept.
We will recommend the park to all our family and friends as we got a very
warm welcome from both the park owners on arrival. Once again we thank you
both and will be returning next year."
Glen and Louise Lincoln (2007):
"This park improves every time we come, toilets and showers are always clean, bins and
recycling areas frequently emptied. Very friendly hard working proprietors.
Excellent for getting to York or Selby.
The only problem with this park is having to leave, we think it is brilliant and we will
be back very soon, (never want to go home!)."
Anthony & Muriel Paul (2006):
"We tried Naburn Lock a few years ago now and have never looked back. We love it. The proprietors Peter &
Catherine are really friendly and welcoming. The facilities are always clean and tidy. Its ideally situated as you are only
a bus ride or scenic boat ride into York and just a short walk to the nearest pub. They cater for everyone; couples or
families. We would, and have, recommended this lovely site."
Graham & Sue Astle (2006):
"A warm welcome is always found at Naburn Lock Caravan Park. Hosts Peter & Catherine do everything possible
to make your stay a happy one.
The site is always clean and tidy, it also has a well-stocked shop, laundry room, ample toilet and shower
facilities and separate dish-washing area.
Waste disposal points and drinking water points are never far away, wherever you are on site. There is also
an adult only are for those of us who like a little bit of peace and quiet.
Situated on a main bus route into York (the city centre is approximately 15 minutes away), you can park your
car and forget about driving, or even take a trip into York on the river boat - well worth the experience.
All in all, a site well worth the visit, we keep coming back and we're sure, once visited, others would do
the same."
Cass & Paul (2006):
"Naburn Lock Caravan Park - Welcoming and friendly (home from home), good variety and layout of pitches and
separate adult area for peace and quiet. With a handy little shop on site. The park is clean and well-maintained with a
pride in its appearance. We regularly recommend visitors to stay."
Garth Rice (2006):
"Fantastic park for caravans and motor homes alike. Nicely positioned, just outside York, the park has
excellent facilities to access York via bus route and river boat. We always look forward to our next visit."
Cassie Cunnare (2006):
"This superb site is attractive to all ages with a friendly and hospitable atmosphere. The park is a haven
for birds and wildlife, yet well-placed to enjoy many attractions that North Yorkshire has to offer."
